Re/Defined is Now Available!

That moment you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived! Re/Defined (Doms of the FBI 4) is here!

redefined500x750The Blurb: Amy Markevich nurses fantasies about dominant agent Jordan Monaghan, but she knows they’ll never come true. He’s younger, to-die-for handsome, and so very different from her. She settles for friendship and dreaming from afar, even when he agrees to show her the platonic side of submission.

Jordan has always known what he wanted, and as he gets to know Amy, he’s convinced that she’s the complete package. Her sexy curves and passionate nature contrast sharply with her childlike innocence and exuberant joie de vivre. She calls to him—body and soul.

Just as he’s about to reveal that he’s a Daddy Dom and that he suspects Amy harbors an inner “little” and a submissive side, Amy witnesses a gruesome murder, and a terrorist organization puts her on top of their most-wanted list.

As they are forced to run for their lives from this unexpected enemy, Jordan helps Amy to accept her true nature—as a little—and to redefine everything she thought she knew about belonging to him.

Warnings: anal play, mini-golf, bondage, sensory play, suction cups, and laser tag.

Here’s a sexy excerpt:

Did she want steak or lasagna, or did she want to let Jordan tie her up and do things that belonged to the mysterious Sensory Play category? Amy frowned as she lined up her shot for the sixteenth hole. He was putting no pressure on her at all. After they’d finished their ice cream, he hadn’t brought it up. She felt his touch on her hip, pushing it into alignment to improve her aim. Relaxing, she let him correct her stance. “Thanks.”

“You’re getting better. By the end of the course, you’ll have it down.”

It had occurred to her that she could continue doing it wrong just so he’d keep touching her, but then, she reasoned, he’d eventually give up, and she’d still be doing it wrong. She hit the ball a little too hard, and it sailed past the cup. “Darn.”

“Not bad. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You came close, and that’s an improvement.” He lined up his shot and sank it neatly.

“Would we negotiate everything beforehand? Plan out every detail?”

“No.” He didn’t pretend to not know she’d changed the topic. “If you had any experience, then yes, we could do that. For this, I’d try a few different things so you could decide what you do and don’t like.”

She thought about that as she tapped her ball into the cup. “What if I don’t like it?”

He retrieved their balls. “You’re familiar with the concept of safewords.”

She didn’t have the sense he’d asked a question, more that he wanted her to explain what she knew. “I know the stoplight system. Red halts everything. Yellow pauses the scene for communication, adjustments, and bathroom breaks.” Once she’d come to accept that the BDSM lifestyle wasn’t a form of abuse, her sister had opened up about many of nitty-gritty details. And she’d heard the guys talk about being dominant. They took the safety precaution aspects of it very seriously.

“So you’ll have safewords. I’ll be talking to you a lot so you’ll know you’re not alone.”

It hadn’t occurred to her that he would leave her alone when she was in a vulnerable position. She set her ball on the tee, lined up the shot, and took a swing. It rounded the bank perfectly, bounced twice from the edges of the narrowed curve that linked the two parts of this tricky hole together, avoided the waterfall, and went straight into the cup. Her draw dropped. She looked at Jordan, her eyes so wide she felt they might pop out. “You saw that, right?”

He wore a wide grin. “Your stance was perfect.”

Dropping her putter, she clapped her hands over her heart. “A hole in one. I never thought I’d be able to do that.”

He hugged her with one arm and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “You can do anything you set your mind to, little one.”

“Yes.” She didn’t necessarily agree with him, but she was no longer talking about her amazing feat. “I want to try it with you.”

“All right. Let’s finish this, and then I’ll take you to my place.”

She’d never been to his place. It made sense that they’d go to his apartment because that’s where his equipment would be located. The drive took a little time because he lived two counties away. They mostly chatted about movies and television shows. She figured he wanted to keep the conversation light to put her at ease.

His apartment was exactly like Jamie had described—pristine and sanitary. Amy chalked that up to his modern décor. There was too much shiny metal and not enough color. It could use some fabric and softness to make it homey. Normally she wouldn’t judge anybody’s home, but this seemed so unlike Jordan. Standing there in a black fitted shirt and worn jeans, his face scruffy from a day’s growth, he didn’t seem to fit. The lack of color was him, but the sharpness of the furniture reminded her that perhaps she didn’t know him all that well.

“What do you think?”

“It’s clean.” She wasn’t going to say anything critical, not to a guy who was planning to tie her up.

He frowned. “You don’t like it.”

“It’s fine. I just pictured your place with more leather, and maybe framed photos of your family on the walls.”

He gestured to the sofa. It was the kind with an exposed metal frame and thin cushions for the seat and back. “It’s more comfortable than it looks. Take off your dress and sit down.”

She hadn’t expected him to say that. She looked at her bright yellow sundress, the only spot of real color in the room. “You want me to get undressed? In here?”

“I need to do a few things before we can begin. If you need to freshen up, the bathroom is the down the hall, first door on the left. When I return, I expect to see that you’ve followed orders.”

Orders. His tone had shifted, becoming harder and more commanding. This was definitely his Dom tone. A shiver of anticipation ran up her spine. Finally, being with a Dom seemed right. “Should I call you Sir or something?”

“Let’s hold off on titles for now.” He disappeared down the hall.

Amy made use of the bathroom. She combed her fingers through her hair and redid her ponytail, and then she checked to make sure she didn’t have anything weird going on with the parts of her skin that would be exposed. Standing in front of the mirror wearing only her bra and underwear was a sobering experience. Though she’d worn her prettiest, laciest underthings, there was no way Jordan was interested in her as anything more than a friend. With a sigh, she hung her dress on a hook on the back of the door. He found her a few minutes later perched on the edge of the sofa, which was surprisingly comfortable, without her dress.

He sat down next to her, but he leaned back and stretched his arm along the back. “What’s your color?”

She stared at her hands, folded neatly on her lap, and hoped he hadn’t meant for her to be completely naked. “Green.”

Here’s another excerpt: (Read a previous excerpt here.)

A noise pulled her from her musings. Blade came into the room. Clad in pajama bottoms and nothing else, he was a vision of male beauty. Lamplight spilled across his chest, highlighting his dips and planes, and the little trail of hair that started below his navel and disappeared into his pants.

“Come to bed,” he said as he crossed the room, his hand extended expectantly. “It’s late.”

It was late. She didn’t take his hand. “I’ll go to bed soon.”

He knelt at her feet, leaned over, and kissed her stomach. And then he put his palm over her abdomen. “You’ll have plenty of time to finish that before the baby comes, Emmy. You have several months. You’re barely showing.”

She stared at him. He looked like he was wide awake, but she hadn’t traveled to this other world with him this time, so she had no idea what he was talking about. Still, she thought she should go along with it. “Blade, where do we live?”

He chuckled. “Anywhere you are is home, honey.” Taking his hand from her abdomen, he framed her face. “Mrs. Edmunds, it’s time for bed. You’re sleeping for two, and besides, your loving husband is lonely without you.”

Okay—he was capable of listening to her, so he wasn’t reliving a past conversation.

He kissed her lightly, and then he put his head on her lap and didn’t move. She caressed his hair away from his face and rubbed his back, but he was soundly asleep. Shaking his shoulder, she said, “Blade? Blade, honey, how about you go back to your room? You can’t sleep like this. It’ll eventually become uncomfortable for us both.”

With a groan, he sat back on his heels and looked at her.

“Are you awake, or are you still my loving husband who is lonely without me?”

Shifting, he sat on the couch next to her. “I was dreaming.”

“Yes, but it seems to be the same situation as this afternoon. Has this happened to you before?”

He scratched his forehead. “I’ve had dreams like this for years, but I never saw your face, not until last night. I’ve never sleepwalked before.”

“So the dreams didn’t start when you brought that house here?”

“No, but I’ve dreamed about that house before. When I saw it, I thought it was meant to be mine.”

“Do we live in that house—you and me and our little bun in the oven?”

He glanced at her stomach, but he didn’t seem surprised by her reference. “I don’t know. I get bits and pieces, but they don’t all make sense together.”

“In your dream, when you came in here, what was I doing? What was I wearing?”

Looking at her intently, he shook his head. “I don’t know. It’s gone. When I try to recall, I only see you here, looking at a file, wearing exactly what you’re wearing right now.”

“I’m interested in hearing about the other dreams you’ve had.”

His mouth set in a grim line and he got up. “I’m not interested in telling you about them.”

Standing, she set her hand on his bare arm. “Blade, I deserve to know.”

He looked at where she touched him and very gently closed his hand over hers. Then he looked at her with fever bright eyes, and she knew he wasn’t in the present anymore. “I’ll take care of you, Emmy. I promise I’ll protect you this time.”

Blade’s Ghost–Coming Sept 21

Blade’s Ghost is a love story with a chilling twist. Check it out–

Blade's Ghost 500 by 750Emmaline Force has dedicated her life to using her gift of seeing and hearing ghosts to help the living understand the spirit world. Devastated after catching her fiancé cheating, Emmaline allows her best friend and partner-in-crime, Matt, to take a ghost hunting case far away, at Paradise Island Ranch Resort. He finds himself torn between this timeless love and the ghost who threatens to take Emmaline’s life—again.

Finding each other was fate, but it will take more than that to overcome the malevolent spirit intent on destroying their happiness.

If this sounds a little familiar, then you’ve probably read Irrepressible Force. As I wasn’t happy with IR, and so I’ve rewritten it. What’s different? Mostly the plot. I cut about 35K from the original and replaced it with even more original text. The characters interact differently with each other, and so the love story develops differently as well. I’ve added characters (like Emmaline’s sister, Caroline) and changed the role of other secondary characters (Maria, Blade’s sister, and Alex, a ranch hand who, now, isn’t quite what he seems). The other major change is the heat rating. The original was artificially heated because I went through a publisher. This version, published independently by Lost Goddess Publishing (my company), is a mainstream romance. There’s still plenty of heat, though, so don’t worry about that.

What’s the same? The characters kept their names; the setting is mostly the same (new locations added); and it’s a love story with a ghost who doesn’t want Blade to be happy with anyone but her.

How about an excerpt? Okay–you don’t have to twist my arm!

He tried to move past her, but she reached out and snagged his shirt. She held the flannel material in her fist, the small buttons digging into her palm. “Blade, be reasonable. Maria called us, so why would you think we’re trying to trick her? Or you?”

He crowded her, pushing her back until the edge of the desk pressed into her upper thighs, and then he kept going. She had to release her hold on his shirt to brace herself against the table or she’d fall backward. Blade followed, pressing his hard body against her softer one, and resting his palms on the desk on either side of her. “How much do you charge for your services?”

The urge to take a swing at him was almost overwhelming. Fury overrode any fear she might feel. “Are you threatening me?”

His eyes roamed from her lips, down to her heaving chest, and back up. “I don’t take kindly to people who take advantage of my sister’s good nature or her unfounded fears. Now answer my fucking question.”

Oh, damn. He was so sexy when he was angry. Emmaline pressed her thighs together and licked her lips. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

He got in her face and growled. “Don’t play games with me. I’m not some stupid guy who’s a sucker for a pretty face, sexy legs, and a spectacular rack. You came all the way here from Michigan, and you’re planning to stay a while. How much are you charging my sister for your time?”

She wanted to answer, but her brain had short-circuited. His dark chocolate eyes mesmerized her, as did the waves of furious passion emanating from him. The stable and office fell away, and she had the sense she was traveling through time. The way he held her became intimate instead of threatening, and she felt her body softening, yielding to his touch. He kissed her, his lips warm and insistent, stealing a moment of forbidden pleasure.

His hand cradled her head, controlling the kiss and holding her as if she were precious. His tongue invaded her mouth, and dizzying feelings erupted in her core, the likes of which she’d never experienced. When he broke away, she gasped for air, but he wasn’t finished. No, his lips grazed her neck and chin, marking a damp path to her ear. He licked the shell and nipped at her lobe, and she moaned when his lips found a sensitive spot just below her ear. Seeking an anchor, she grasped his shoulders. When he pulled her closer and pressed his body to hers, she melted into his embrace. Only when his questing hand lifted the hem of her shirt did she shove him away.

The spell broken, Emmaline gazed at Blade. Her heart pounded wildly, and she was more than a little shocked. He blinked a few times, bewildered, and then he stepped back.

Emmaline smoothed her skirt and tried to step past him. The curious turn of events had left her very confused. His hand shot out, and he grabbed her arm. “Wait. You never answered me.”

“Right.” She exhaled and closed her eyes. Their exchange seemed so long ago. “How much am I charging Maria? Nothing.”

“Liar. It costs you in time and resources to be here. How much, Emmy?”

She shook her head, but she didn’t look at him because she didn’t want to chance drowning in his bottomless eyes. “I do this because I want to help people, not to make money. I charge nothing. We usually stay at a hotel, but there aren’t any around here, and Maria said we could stay in an open room. This is costing Maria one room and meals. That’s all. Please let go of me.”

His grip slackened. She pulled free and fled the stable.

Want to review an ARC of Re/Claimed?

Greetings bloggers and reviewers! Re/Claimed (Doms of the FBI 3) is due out in July. If you would like an opportunity to review an ARC of Re/Claimed before it comes out, please contact me. Here’s the link to the request form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/15Y6VHPVa849oLgU_H3Uvi5wzMUmvQjMw-j2jgB_OkKo/viewform?c=0&w=1

I’m seeking honest reviews, especially from bloggers/reviewers who have read Re/Bound and Re/Paired and who have posted honest reviews of them on their website, Goodreads, Amazon, All Romance eBooks, or Barnes and Noble. The ARC has not gone through final edits or proofing, so expect some typographical errors at this point.

Both Re/Bound and Re/Paired have been selected for a number of honors, including Top Picks and Recommended Reads. Here is the blurb for Re/Claimed:

Layla’s wicked fantasies had already caused problems that left her with deep emotional scars, so when she got a second chance to live them out, she insisted on strict rules and boundaries.

Dustin agreed to abide by Layla’s rules because that’s the only way he could have her, but after a while, it wasn’t enough. He wanted the whole woman—the impulsive, stubborn parts as well as her sweet, generous side—and so he insists she give him a fair chance to prove he’s worthy of her love. He’s over the moon when she agrees to date him, even if she insists on a vanilla relationship.

Complicating matters is the return of her abusive ex-Master, a kidnapped child, and a human trafficking ring that’s been targeting teens from the community center Layla runs. When the investigation turns up nothing, Layla takes desperate measures that put her and Dustin in danger.

In Re/Claimed (Doms of the FBI 3), Michele Zurlo delivers another hot, heartwrenching, and stunning BDSM romantic suspense tale.

Excerpt #1:

Giving her a half smile, I tried to move our conversation forward. “Can I get one of those baguettes?” I pulled a skirt from my bag. Evelyn and I were in business together, sort of. She made beautiful and functional clothing, and I modeled it so that people would want it for themselves. When I was little, my dreams hadn’t included becoming a fashion model, but that’s what I was. Without electricity or anything approaching technology, my Computer Engineering degree wasn’t going to do crap for me.

Cassie eyed the long skirt. I’d tie-dyed it red myself from crushed beetle shells. Those things were truly everywhere, even in a parallel dimension. They probably wandered through wormholes regularly.

“If you ask nicely.”

My head jerked around to the source of the voice before my brain processed the speaker. Turning, I found myself face-to-face with Cosmo. His jet black hair fell to his shoulders, curling slightly on the ends, and his black eyes regarded me intently. He had a strong jaw and sharp nose that worked to make him more imposing, yet it didn’t detract from his attractiveness.

He didn’t smile as he stood with his arms crossed and his weight leaning mostly on his left side. Our eyes met, and I quickly looked away. Yeah, I was a chicken. I wasn’t going to give sparks a chance to jump between us because I knew I couldn’t handle what he offered. I sidled a glance at Niall, but I turned my attention to Cassie and gave her the skirt. “Next time.”

She opened her mouth to say something, but Niall snaked his hand around her upper arm and jerked her to his side, hissing something for her ears only.

While Cosmo stared at me, Finley came into the store. He grinned when he saw me. “Laurel, you’ve been avoiding me.”

It was true. Though I was friends and business partners with his mother—Evelyn considered them all her son—I made sure my visits to her didn’t overlap with Jonathan’s. To my knowledge, Jonathan had been avoiding me as well. I’m sure if he wanted to see me, Evelyn would have made it happen by now. She wasn’t our matriarch for no reason.

I managed a small smile. “How’ve you been?”

His smile slipped a little. “I miss you. I thought we were going to be friends.”

I really didn’t know Cosmo or Finley, but they wouldn’t see it that way. “I told Jonathan we could continue to be friends, but he hasn’t been around.”

“It’s particularly hard for him to see you. If you reject Cosmo or me, you’re rejecting aspects of him, not the whole of me. Him. Us.”

Laughing at his pronoun slipup wasn’t something I could bring myself to do. Even he couldn’t decide if they were separate people or not.

He touched my hair lightly, bringing my attention back to him. “There’s still hope. That’s my point.”

There was no hope. “I don’t even know you.”

Excerpt #2:

The second I opened the door, Saskia jumped on me. Though she was small for a Zmaj, that only put her at about 6’2—two inches shorter than me. I caught her, but she was a powerful woman. We fell back so that she pinned me against the wall. She kissed me, her dual-tipped tongue snaking into my mouth to plunder what was hers as she slid her hand into my pants. I moaned as she wrapped her fingers around my cock, bringing it to life.

She broke the kiss suddenly and tightened her grip on my manhood. “You left without saying goodbye.”

“You were asleep. I said goodbye to Stellan.” Technically, I’d sucked his cock. No words had been uttered by either of us.

“You gave sex. This is not the same.”

I stroked a strand of her lime green hair away from her gorgeous face, and I extended the caress down her cheek. “I missed you too.”

Her bottom lip stuck out in a pout. “You will let me come to the bakery next time?”

I exhaled hard, mostly because she squeezed my cock to the edge of pain. “Saskia, you can’t come there because you don’t let me work.” My Zmaj was possessive of me and my time, but we were working on that. When I was at the bakery, I’d banned them from visiting because they inevitably got in the way. Even Taja, who loved to bake, had caused me to burn items too many times. Since they also had duties and responsibilities, they’d agreed to respect and support my career choice. Wrapping my arms around her, I pulled her to my chest. “But I’m not working now, so I’m all yours.”

Slowly her grip loosened, and she slid her hand from my pants. Her finger partially morphed into a claw, and she tugged at the fastener on my fly. My pants slid down my legs to pool at my ankles. I kicked out of them, careful not to move too much because Saskia still had a claw and she was now on her knees in front of me. Her tongue darted out to wet her upper lip. I widened my stance and leaned back against the coolness of the wall because where sex was concerned, I had no control. What my Zmaj wanted, they took—and I gladly gave.

Lifting my cock, she dipped her head and slid her wet tongue over my sac. I sucked air and closed my eyes. Playing light flicks over my sensitive skin, she barely touched me, and I knew the teasing was in some measure a punishment for leaving without waking each aspect that morning. Part of me had done it for selfish reasons—they’d want to have sex, and I’d slept in, so I didn’t have time, and I didn’t have it in me to refuse them. My Zmaj fed from my sexual energy, and so they were the opposite of selfish when it came to sex. They often didn’t care if they climaxed at all. It was a nice bonus, but not the point. Pushing me to the edge and keeping me there—that gave them immeasurable pleasure and more energy than ten meals.

“Saskia.” I moaned her name, a reverent caress that matched how I stroked her hair.

She ran her fingertips up and down my thighs, sending shivers to my belly, and she sucked my sac into her mouth. Warmth closed around my cock, and I opened my eyes to see Taja on her knees next to Saskia.

She winked at me as she drew my cock into her mouth, and then she let it go. “Welcome home, Niall. We don’t have time to tie you up right now, but you will not move.” I frequently disobeyed her orders because when I did, they only did things to me that were even more deliciously wicked. She ran her tongue along the ridge of my crown, and when she went to take me back into her mouth, I thrust, forcing my dick deeper than she’d anticipated.

Immediately, Saskia pulled my balls down, stretching them until I cried out. It hurt and it felt so fucking good. “You moved.”

Excerpt #1:

When Mom tried to get up, I grabbed her arm and forced her to sit still. My mother was nobody’s maid, and Laurel was capable of serving herself. A food-filled plate waited for her on the counter. Laurel tossed her long, sun-bleached hair over her shoulder, grabbed her plate, and joined us at the table.

“How did it go today?” Laurel flashed a friendly smile at my mom.

“We sold almost everything,” Mom said.

“No thanks to you,” I added.

“Jonathan!” Mom hissed, probably appalled at my lack of manners.

“She took off and didn’t do shit to help. We provide her with food and a bed, and she does nothing to help with that effort.” The apple-cinnamon bread turned sour in my mouth.

Laurel’s shirt had slid sideways, exposing one shoulder. It was a new design of my mother’s, and we’d sold out of them today. If she wasn’t so annoying, I might have noticed and appreciated the smoothness of her supple, tan skin. The sight of her sexy shoulder might have stirred me, so I focused on what I disliked about her. Laurel didn’t seem fazed by my bad mood. Her grin grew. “I modeled the shirt, Mr. Grouchy. I walked around all day, showing it off and telling people where to get it. I even approached a few of the Zmaj ladies. Did we make any headway there?”

Mom tilted her head and half nodded. “They need a certain fabric that is difficult to obtain. It works with their shifting abilities, appearing when they’re in human form and disappearing when they’re in dragon form. It doesn’t rip or become distorted. I’ve worked with it a few times, but my Zmaj never let me do anything out of the ordinary with it.”

Laurel nodded. “I bet if you ask Cassie, she’ll get you some. Her Zmaj seem to do anything she wants.”

“You sound jealous,” I said. “Did you leave your Zmaj because they wouldn’t do what you wanted?”

“Nope,” she returned smugly, her dark eyes sparkling and setting off something inside me. “I left because I’m not ready to settle down with men who inject venom into me to ensure my compliance.”

A flame lit in my belly—ignited by her look, not her words—and traveled up my spine. The heat threatened to overwhelm me, and so I gulped my water. My mother leaped to her feet. “Jonathan, are you all right?”

“Fine.” I waved her away, but she pushed my hand down and felt my forehead.

“You’re burning up.”

I felt like I was on fire. Across the table, Laurel merely smirked. I ignored her and concentrated on not burping smoke. Pain knifed through my midsection, and I doubled over, toppling to the floor. Laurel and my mother moved the table and bench out of the way, and as their shadows disappeared, I saw that my fingers had become talons. Horrified, I clutched my fist to my stomach and waited for the spasms to pass. This wasn’t the first time I’d had an attack of this kind, but this was by far worse than any of the others. Never before had my hand morphed. Deep down I knew Illion was right, but I refused to think about that right now. I desperately didn’t want to be a fucking—heartless, soulless—dragon.

After a time, the pain faded, as did the heat. Thankfully, my mother ceased trying to make me move or talk to her. Exhausted, I let my mother and Laurel help me to bed, where I immediately fell into a deep sleep.

Excerpt #2:

I woke to blinding sunlight, which meant the day was going to be boiling hot. Summers were the worst. At least my room was cool and comfortable. I sat up, and that’s when all the aches and pains hit. My head felt like a balloon, my shoulder killed, and I couldn’t move my arm. I looked down to see white bandages winding down the right side of my body, all the way to my foot. The left side looked okay, but it was murder to move.

The room in which I lay looked more like a bedroom than a hospital. The walls were white, as were the bed linens, and the curtains were deep brown. No bad or inspirational artwork hung on the barren walls. I’d woken up in a tampon commercial. The bed, by the way, was massive. It could swallow me and a few of my closest friends whole.

“You’re awake.”

Looking over, I hurt my neck and saw a gorgeous man coming through the door, so it was sort of worth the pain. He was quite large, broad-shouldered and full of muscles, yet he moved with pantherlike grace. His face was obscured by his long red hair, and thankfully he brushed it away. His face was just as appealing as his body, but he still gave me pause. For one, his eyes were the same shade of red as his hair, and that struck me as weird. Second, I didn’t know him.

He smiled and gently pushed my unhurt shoulder back down. “Don’t try to move. Your injuries are quite severe.”

I settled back on the pillows. “Who are you? Where am I?”

He frowned and pulled back a bit, regarding me as if I had lost my mind. “Who am I? You do not remember?”

I attempted to shake my head, but the movement hurt, so I said, “Remember what?”

His gaze traveled the length of my bandages. “You fell and hit your head. I feared you would not awaken.”

I feared I hadn’t awakened—or that I had lost my mind. “You haven’t told me who you are.”

“Tobin. Do you recall your name?”

Of course I knew my name—I just couldn’t think of it. I searched my mind, but it hid from me, heckling from behind a veil I couldn’t penetrate. “Where am I?”

“Home,” he said, his expression turning sad. “Arabella, you are home.” He opened his mouth to say more, but then he closed it. “I do not know if it is better for you to remember on your own—as you heal—or if I should tell you everything you wish to know.”

Arabella. That sounded right. Yes, the word took definite shape in the shadows of my memory. More was there, but it remained hidden. I tried to coax it out, but it was too timid—almost terrified. Pain knifed through my head, putting a halt to any of that activity. “Why am I not in a hospital?”

That one seemed to throw him, but he recovered quickly. “What would you get in a hospital that you wouldn’t get here? I have been and will continue to care for you.”

“Why?” I searched his face for clues. Why would he go through the time and expense of caring for someone with injuries as extensive as mine? “What am I to you?”

He glanced away, but not quickly enough to hide the flash of pain in his eyes.

This cloak-and-dagger stuff was going to drive me nuts, especially because it concerned my life. “Tobin, please be honest with me.”

“My mate.” He exhaled hard. “You are my mate, and your accident was my fault. I was irresponsible, full of hubris. I wanted to show off for you, and this was the result.”

Fear clutched at my heart, and the feeling of falling through the air made my stomach clench. Suddenly I felt cold and clammy. I tried to turn away so he wouldn’t see, but pain made it come faster. I vomited on my pillow.

Excerpt 1:

“Cassie.” The deep voice calling my name belonged to the dragon man standing next to the one who had watched over us. “Come.”

Was it wrong that his commanding tone had me close to coming? Nora’s assurance came from, I knew, deep inside my psyche. After all, in a dream all the characters were aspects of myself. Niall was my caution, and Nora was my sense of adventure. I pried myself from Niall’s hold. “We’ll be fine.”

Even facing the weirdest situation and the worst odds, I was an optimist. Before Niall could process what I was doing, I left the safety of the group. Taking those first steps toward a new life was easy when I knew I’d soon wake up in the safety and comfort of my bed, and I figured nothing was to be gained by huddling against a barn. Plus, this would make one hell of a diary entry when I woke up, and it would help keep my mind off Chad, the jerkweasel who’d dumped me yesterday.

Laurel and Oliver followed me. Both of them seemed to be dazed and confused. The blue-haired men morphed into a dragon, and we climbed onto its back. The three of us fit easily. I sat forward of the wings. Oliver situated himself behind me, and Laurel wrapped her arms around his waist.

“Hold onto the scales,” Nora shouted.

I slid my hands around the edges of two blue scales. Each was a large as a dinner plate, but they had ridges on the top which were perfect for holding. One leap, and it took off.

Flying on the back of a dragon was unlike anything I’d experienced. My tummy fluttered from the quick ascent—or from that niggling bit of sense that told me I wasn’t playing it safe, and wind whipped through my hair. I had the feeling the dragon was flying slower than normal, and I appreciated his restraint. Any faster, and I might have freaked out.

Or not. Who could be afraid of heights or strangers in such a wonderful fantasy?

Excerpt 2:

I slid to the ground, and my dragon morphed back into five gorgeous men. One came forward and took my hand in his firm grip. “Illion,” he said.

“Hi, Illion. I’m Cassie.” I didn’t know if he remembered.

“Cassie. Yes. Beautiful. You will remove garments.”

I’ve never had a problem going au natural. With a flirtatious giggle, I shed my flannel pajamas. They weren’t sexy, and the air was too warm for this kind of dress anyway. The bulge in Illion’s tight pants grew, stretching the fabric to maximum capacity. The man was packing some serious cock, and he had a magnetism that drew me closer.

Before I could run my fingertip over his cock, the other four moved closer, introducing themselves as they checked out my body. Thanks to a love of ice cream and carbs, I had some generous curves, and I took pride in every single one of them.

“Cashel.”

“Beck.”

“Aurelio.”

“Fayne.”

That was a little quick for me, so I studied each one intently before repeating his name. Cashel was the tallest. He had hawkish features that made him look like a predator, which I guess he was. Beck had seriously broad shoulders. I was a sucker for broad shoulders. Aurelio was the shortest, which meant he only towered over me by a foot instead of two, and he wore the most serious expression. Fayne had an easy smile. All of them were large and built. Muscles rippled from every facet of their bodies, but the thing that struck me nearly speechless were their electric blue eyes. Each of them sported the intense color, and it made my pussy damp. That, and five hot men were regarding me as the second coming of sexual heaven.

After I’d successfully learned their names, I tossed a saucy smile. This was the best dream ever. “What now?”

“Bath,” Aurelio said. “I will wash you.”

Beck licked his lips. “I will help.”

Illion motioned to Fayne and Cashel. “We prepare first meal.”

Beck lifted me easily, cradling me in his arms. He carried me to the bathing room. I called it that because it seemed to be the only purpose of the cavernous room. A large, sunken pool bubbled in the center. Beck handed me to Aurelio, who had shed his pants while I was admiring the tub.

Aurelio sat down on the edge of the pool and slid into the warm water. Beck handed me down to Aurelio before joining us. He lathered soap in his hands, and then he went right for my breasts. I arched my back, thrusting my chest up to give him complete access. Behind me, Aurelio laughed. He used a cloth to clean the rest of me, not that I was too dirty. I’d showered before going to bed the night before, but wrapped in heavy flannel in this warm weather had rendered me sweaty.

It didn’t take long for me to realize they’d finished washing me, and now they were just touching.

“Beautiful,” Aurelio said. “Sexy Cassie.”

As I decided to flirt back, I wondered how much English he knew. “Sexy Aurelio. Sexy Beck. You both have magnificent cocks. I’d love to touch you the way you’re touching me.”

As if they’d rehearsed, both sets of hands stilled on my flesh.

“Yes,” Beck said. He wrapped my hand around his cock and thrust against my palm. Aurelio did the same thing with my other hand. “These aspects will bring Cassie climax.”

Excerpt from Catherine and the Spanking Room:

He sat behind his desk, watching her intently, his expression unreadable. He had sexy eyes, unexpectedly blue against his Hispanic coloring, and his thick mane of dark hair made her  fingers itch to run her fingers through. An assortment of paddles, canes, and whips hung on the wall behind him, giving the office a decidedly dungeon feel. At last he clasped his hands together and leaned forward. “Catherine, you’ve been caught masturbating in class again.”

She lifted a shoulder and let it drop. “I can’t help it, Master Carlos. Every time I see you walking the halls, your muscles bulging out of your suit and your huge package front and center, just teasing me, I have to touch myself. It’s not my fault that everybody likes to watch.” The corner of his mouth twitched, and she took that as a good sign. She spread her legs and pushed the crotch of her panties over. “Would you like to watch?”

He came around the desk. She thought he’d perch on the corner where he’d have a better view of her pussy, but he hauled her from the chair and pushed her down over the hard wooden desktop. “Lift your arms up and hold on to the edge. Your punishment is a thorough spanking. If you climax while I’m smacking your ass, you will be punished further.”
Excerpt from Master Eddie’s Sub:

A glance down proved that Eddie was aroused by the idea of doing things to her in public, and that calmed her more than words could. He shifted her to stand in front of him. Master Carlos had released Catherine’s nipple, and now he worked on her ass with a wooden paddle. She shrieked and howled, but when he let up, she said, “Getting tired already, Master? I’m barely feeling it.” Her ass was a maze of redness, and bruises would no doubt appear in a little while.

Eddie slid his hands up Marina’s thighs, reaching under her shirt to knead her breasts. Marina relaxed against his strong body and let herself enjoy her Sir’s attention. Master Carlos resumed spanking Catherine, this time with a tree branch that whistled through the air and left welts across her ass and thighs, and Eddie slid his hand under her skirt and into her panties. Marina gasped when his probing fingers found her wet and ready. Though she didn’t want to be spanked, the sight of someone else being disciplined definitely turned her on. That, and Eddie’s proximity. Just the smell of him got her hot and bothered.

Excerpt from Master Jett’s Surprise:

“Amy, on your feet with your legs spread shoulder-width. Zach, I’m going to unwrap my present. Kneel on the bed so that you can watch.”
Zach shed his shorts and placed himself in position. He had a build that leaned more toward stocky, and his powerful physique lent him a beautiful grace. Master Jett openly admired his lover before turning his attention to Amy. She stood as he’d commanded, but her panties perched just above her knees instead of sliding down her legs. She left them alone, something for Master Jett to remove.

Jett nudged her a bit, turning her so that Zach could have a prime view of her assets. He tugged at the wide, red bow draped over her breasts. It came loose easily, caressing her skin as he pulled it away. He set it on the bed and studied her. Amy resisted the urge to fidget. Both Zach and Jett had seen her nude before, but she’d never felt naked in their presence.Standing there in sexy lingerie, waiting for Jett to remove her clothes so that he could torture and fuck her, made her nervous for the first time.

Kiss Me Goodnight cover

Kiss Me By Moonlight

2014 was a good year for me. It saw the release of two mainstream romances, the Kiss Me series, easily two of the best stories I’ve ever written. Critics loved them, though they didn’t sell very well. Oh well–they were a labor of love, and I remain devoted to Lacey and Dylan. Their story made me laugh and cry, and their journey was equally heartwarming and heartwrenching.

2014 saw the launch of my own small press, Lost Goddess Publishing. At present, I’m keeping it small. I’ve taken on two other authors to publish, and that means I’ve transitioned to editor as well as writer. I don’t think that job is for everybody, but I turned out to be surprisingly good at helping authors flesh out their stories. And I’m a whiz with commas. I wasn’t always able to claim that title. Working with Nicoline Tiernan has been great. (No, she’s not me, but she is one of my closest friends.) Her writing and her style have evolved a lot in the past year. If you like MM and haven’t picked up Tristan’s Lover yet, you’re really missing out. I’ve also begun an occasional blog series called Dirty Grammar, where I discuss grammar while using examples from adult scenes.

Tristan's Lover 5002014 also saw the first of my backlist returned to me. Loose Id returned Re/Bound to me. I tightened it up a bit, mostly tinkering with the ending to make that last scene work better. It finally clicked, and the Amazon reviews for it skyrocketed from 12 to 30. As it’s available for lending on Kindle, it’s not available for sale through other venues. It was briefly nominated for the Golden Flogger award until the person who nominated it (who runs the conference) discovered it was originally published in 2012, and so it was disqualified. Ah, well. It was an honor to have been briefly nominated. Re/Bound is one of my favorite novels, and I’m just happy people are enjoying it.

ReBound-FJM_Low_Res_500x750Janus also looks forward, so here’s what I have planned for 2015–

January-February-March will see the launch of my new menage series, Dragon Kisses. Right now it’s a trilogy, but my beta readers have used strong language to indicate the series should continue. The premise behind it is science fiction-ish: Five humans wake up one morning to find they’ve been transported to a world where dragon shifters (Zmaj) keep humans as sex slaves. They feed on human sexual energy. Book 1 is told through Cassie and Niall’s eyes. We get to know the new world and the dragon culture. Both Cassie and Niall fall in love with the dragons who claimed them, and of course they balk at the idea of being sex slaves. The menage part comes from my scientific mind: There’s no way a 600-pound dragon can shift into one person. That ignores the law of conservation of mass. Six-hundred pounds can shift into 4-5 humanoid shapes, and so each dragon shifts into 3-5 aspects. The aspects may have separate bodies, but they function as one person. It’s quite an interesting concept that I hope you’ll come to enjoy as much as my beta readers did.

Book 2 follows Arabella, who is captured when a rival group of dragons raid the human settlement next to Zmaj. She has amnesia, and though Tobin initially lies to her about their relationship, they eventually fall in love–and that puts them both in danger from the Inamanida King, who treats humans as disposable flesh. This story also follows Jonathan, a man who was born on Zmaj and finds his world turned upside down when it’s revealed that his biological father was a dragon. Not only does he have to contend with coming of age and becoming a shifter, but he must deal with Laurel–the woman he likes who is terrified of dragons.

Book 3 brings all those storylines together. Arabella and Tobin are in Zmaj, where they’ve fled. Attack from the Inamanida is imminent. Not only do they want revenge on Tobin, but they want to destroy the Zmaj warriors who are protecting the few humans on the planet. Laurel is forced to confront her fears and her feelings for Jonathan. Cassie and Niall’s lives are put on the line as well. I meant for this to be the conclusion of the story, but some things happened that I hadn’t foreseen, and it leaves things open for more to the stories.

2015 will see the return of five Siren-Bookstrand titles to me. Some will be revised and re-released. Others will go away forever. Lettting Go should come back to me in February. As my first published novel, it hold an extremely special place in my heart. It will go away for a couple of months as I get ready to relaunch it. I’ve already done a lot of revisions to make it fit my original vision, and I’ve added parts in response to readers who’ve written me about it. I’ll also get back Hanging On, Irrepressible Force, Tomorrow Cries (under another name), and Two Masters for Samantha. I’m pretty sure I’m getting some Loose Id titles back–Re/Paired and perhaps the Oasis series (though there may be another year on that contract.)

2015 will also see the third book in the Doms of the FBI series finally come out. I’ve been sitting on that one for two years because, as I’ve realized, writing while under the influence of a concussion isn’t the best idea in the world. It’s been majorly overhauled, and at last I have the story I want. Call me picky, but you’ll be glad for that when you finally read it! I’ve already begun brainstorming book 4 in that series. Amy will finally get her happy ending.

Best Wishes for a Happy New Year! I hope it’s the best one yet!

Love, Michele
