I want to formally congratulate Lea Ann Patton for winning the “Name Those Characters” contest. Twin #1 stayed up extra late to draw the names from a square wooden box. Re/Leased* (Doms of the FBI #5) features characters who don’t previously appear as the hero and heroine, and so I didn’t have ready-made names like I have for books 1-4**. Lea joined me for a party on the Exquisite Quills Facebook page August 20, and it was such a pleasure to get to know her! The names she chose are in honor of close family members (I won’t say who because she didn’t give permission), and so they’re very meaningful for her. So here goes (I used actor pictures–young Val Kilmer, current Ellen Page–to approximate what I imagine the characters to look like)–
David Eastridge: Tall, blond, and deadly. This former member of Special Forces can hold a grudge. Estranged from his father for the past decade, David returns home to fulfill a deathbed promise to his mother. He’s going to help his father with a serious problem. Someone has embezzled $3M from his company, and now it’s on the edge of collapse. David had vowed to catch the thief and find the missing money. He’s liaising with the FBI on
this case because white collar crime isn’t his usual thing. This founding member of SAFE Security (first appearance is in book 4) is not someone you want to mess with…unless you’re Autumn Sullivan.
Autumn Sullivan: Her playful attitude and the mischievous flint in her green eyes has David rethinking her as a target of the investigation. How can someone so sassy and passionate have taken the money, and what could she possibly have done with it? As he gets to know her, he finds she’s harboring some odd and shocking secrets–and someone is definitely out to get her.
Okay, I’m not revealing anything more now. It’s still an incomplete draft, so things are subject to change!
Thank you to Lea Ann Patton for naming this pair! You’ll get to meet them summer 2016.
**Re/Defined (Doms of the FBI 4) is expected Jan 2016. It’s Amy and Jordan’s story.
