KB Interview: Allysa Hart

Kissing Bandits Welcomes Allysa Hart

KB: Welcome to Kissing Bandits Blog! Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I am a full-time mom to a sassy, strong-willed, loveable little girl. Okay, so she is all me. I am on the wrong side of 30, and I have been married to my best friend for over eight years. Like most couples, we have our ups and downs, but I could not imagine doing life with anyone else by my side. We are Southern California transplants, currently residing in a very rural part of the east coast. I have two crazy dogs that I adore, even though they drive me out of my ever-loving mind, most days.

I have recently rediscovered my love of words and decided to become a writer. My first story is my heart and soul, and it reaches into the depths of all that is me. I also create covers, promos, and logos for  authors. I have met some amazing friends on this journey that I now happily call family. Without my family members, whether biological or chosen, I would not be half the person I am today. Their constant love and support keep me afloat.

KB: Tell us a little bit about your most recent release.

Fiona Burelli is a 22 year old socialite living a fast paced privileged lifestyle where she believes she is untouchable. Her father, Vincent Burelli, is a wealthy politician with questionable ethics. Even though she can’t stand the man, she loves the money and the power that came with being a Burelli.

When Vincent is arrested, all of her possessions are seized and assets are frozen and Fiona has no choice but to seek out her family for help or end up on the streets.

She quickly learns the only person willing to take her in is an estranged aunt she has only met once in her entire life.

Fi is forced to trade in her credit cards and designer shoes for a broom and dust pan as she learns how the lower classes live, but she constantly reminds herself, the change is only temporary.

Stumbling into a hidden room of the antique shop, she let’s her curiosity gets the best of her and ends up in the company of  a sexy, nonsense genie with a penchant for discipline.

Being in the small town with the unique older woman and sexy genie, she learns more than just how to do laundry and dishes.

KB: Tell us about your first kiss.

Ha! It was awful! I was sixteen and it was a truth or dare with a guy I had a major crush on. We had to kiss for thirty seconds and all I remember is his teeth hitting mine. I’m dying laughing just thinking about it.

KB: What made you want to become a writer?

I have always loved writing. I used to pen stories in elementary school, but I was hopeless at illustrations so I stopped. After college I rediscovered my love for reading and started devouring romance books like crazy. The stories started coming to me and I just followed suit and began writing. Best decision I have ever made.

KB: Describe how you create characters.

I don’t create them, they come to me and tell me their stories, I just write them down.

KB: What kinds of female characters do you prefer to write?

Strong, sassy, adorable brats who are in dire need of a sound spanking. Although the newest character that has been speaking to me is too serious for her own good.

KB: What kinds of male characters do you prefer to write?

Loving, dominant, alpha males. I love a man who will open doors and put their woman first, but will not hesitate if he needs to take her to task for naughty or dangerous behavior.

KB: What is the biggest risk you’ve taken in your writing?

Going indie. I used to work with a small publisher, but made the decision to strike out on my own. This book is the first release without anyone backing it.

KB: What is something nobody would guess about you?

In real life I am painfully shy, but when I put on my AllyCat hat, I feel like I could take on any social situation that is thrown my way.
